Monastery of Gobnait and Ab\u00e1n<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We are building a Monastery in C\u00fail Aodha. It is a community project and all are welcome to join in. Our preferred first choice of Order to receive our invitation, to come amongst us, is the Order of the Family of Bethlehem.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

We have a committee and hold regular public meetings to disscuss and facilitate progress.\u00a0 These are held in C\u00fail Aodha and notice is given here, in the local newsletter and in local shops etc., before hand.\u00a0 The next meeting is on Monday 13\/7\/2015 in Arus Eamon Mac Suibhne.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

We are currently looking for an archetect. We have some engineers on board already but more engineers archetects and quantity surveyors are very welcome to help us.\u00a0 All this work is pro bono. The order will have specific requirements but the monastery itself is not very big. We expect that the initial community may be as little as five but we will provide for it\u2019s growth to 12 in the first years (12 cells).<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

We will then publish and circulate these lists to all including speciffically hardware stores in Munster and further afield and ask businesses and people to choose what items on the list they can provide for free. We will set up a mechanism so that people can purchase a brick or a slate etc., online so that people can support the project from far afield.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

With the invitation to the order there are two things we will expect in return for the continuing support of the monastic community \u00a0- they are:<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The recognition of\u00a0the fact that we are in the Gaeltacht and we would hope that, with time, this would be a Gaelic speaking religious community. \u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The second thing is that we would expect them to provide a priest in the attached local church should we ever be unfortunate enough that the Diocese were not able to do so on occasion.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
